I hope your assessment of Carney is right. However, the Liberal running in my constituency is not getting my vote. Nor is the Conservative!

I’d be quite surprised if Carney keeps backing Israel, but I’m not shocked he hasn’t said anything too strong before the election. Just look at what happened to Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party in the UK to see why.

Plus, there are definitely signs of Israeli election interference in Australia, which has an election coming up just a week after yours.

From a global perspective, I reckon he could be a positive force in politics. If you take a look around the world right now, there aren’t many politicians, prime ministers, or presidents showing any real statesmanship, or statecraft for that matter. I feel he has the potential to make a difference, and the timing seems pretty good, especially considering the last leader with any international recognition who had that quality—President Macron—lost it pretty dam quickly. To be honest, I think Macron’s days are already numbered, MC has the potential to fill that void.

To be honest, I usually lean towards supporting the party rather than the individual, and I have my reservations about parties in general.

However, in this particular situation, I truly believe we all need the right person for the job at the right time, and I think it would be tough to find anyone with better credentials.

The biggest issues we’re facing today are largely economic, and having a calm and composed leader to navigate these crises is absolutely essential.

He’s an excellent economic strategist who keeps a cool head under pressure. Can he can deal with psychotic egos.

What I really appreciate is that he doesn’t seem to have had any prior ambitions to get into politics. Instead, he’s encountered the complexities of the world and recognised that he’s well-equipped to tackle them.

I’m quite familiar with him from his time in England, and his extensive experience abroad really shows he has a solid grasp of global dynamics.

I wish my country had someone like this at the moment.

I heard Lawrence Wilkerson express the same wish. I liked the statement Carney made some time before the leadership convention about Canada needing to diversify its trading. My only concern is his position on Israel which he has pretty much avoided making public so far. I guess we'll find out soon enough where he stands. At least the man has a brain which is more than I can say for Justin Trudeau who was really just a pretty face!

No, I haven’t but you’re not the first person to mentioned it. I did read a few excerpts from it in an article from it a little while ago. I think Alistair Campbell also mentioned it was a good read on “The Rest Is Politics” podcast not so long ago.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed! By the way, have you read Carney’s book, Value(s): Building a Better World? I haven’t yet but have it on hold.
